Mr. Wiencek is the President of Wiencek + Associates Architects + Planners, which he founded in 1986. With a passion for social justice, Mr. Wiencek created a new perspective, bringing award winning, quality design to areas of traditional economic disadvantage, formerly marginalized by society.
His philosophy of “Design Empowering People” has been the focus of all of his projects. The firm has designed over 80,000 units of Multi-Family/Mixed-Use projects from Luxury to Affordable, with an emphasis on Green, Sustainable, and Healthy solutions, serving as catalysts for change in their neighborhoods, earning over 150 national and regional design awards.
He is very active in within the local, national, and international community, serving on numerous boards and committees including; The Housing Opportunity Commission of Montgomery County, MD Commissioner; The Affordable Housing Conference Board; Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland Board; Open Door Housing Fund Board; CNA/Shinnerer Insurance Architectural Advisory Panel; ULI Affordable Housing Council Member; and Maryland Board of Historic District Commissions.
Mr. Wiencek holds Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies from the University of Maryland and was elected into the AIA College of Fellows in 2017.
