Norman Dreyfuss


Mr. Dreyfuss is EVP and Chief Operating Officer, of IDI Group Companies. He completed the successful development of Leisure World of Maryland, a multifamily condominium community for residents over 55 in Silver Spring, MD. He is also responsible for the development of Leisure World of Virginia, a 2,400-unit condominium community for active adults at Landsdowne near Leesburg, VA. Under Dreyfuss’s leadership, IDI undertook the successful redevelopment of The Ambassador Apartments in Wheaton, MD from an aging Best Western Hotel into 162 attractive and efficient single-room-occupancy apart-
ments, working in partnership with Montgomery County and the State of Maryland.

Dreyfuss was the 1996 President of the Suburban Maryland Building Industry Association. He is a former member of the Montgomery County Task Force for Moderate Priced Rentals, the Maryland Governor’s Commission on Condominiums, the Cooperative Homeowners Association and the Montgomery County Committee for More Efficient Use of Existing Housing Stock. He served as a Commissioner of the Housing Opportunities Commission from 2007 to 2010. The Montgomery County Council appointed Mr. Dreyfuss as a Commissioner of the Montgomery County Planning Board in 2010. Mr. Dreyfuss has been Co-Chair of the Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County since 2000.
