AFFORDABLE HOUSING CONFERENCE OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY HOSTING

WINTER 2023 AFFORDABLE HOUSING ROUNDTABLE

AHCMC continues to support affordable housing through education and advocacy.

 Rockville, Md. (January 24, 2023) -- The Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County today announced it is hosting a Winter 2023 Affordable Housing Roundtable at the Montgomery County Planning Department Headquarters in Wheaton on February 22, 2023, from 8:30 am to 12 Noon. The Roundtable will focus on two topics currently important to affordable housing: Tools and Techniques to Increase Affordable Housing Production, and Successful Tenant Purchases.

“The greatest problem facing affordable housing today is how to ramp up production,” AHCMC Co-Chair Ralph Bennett stated. Bennet continued, “Montgomery County needs more housing, including affordable housing.”

“Getting more rental housing is vitally important, but we also need ways to encourage homeownership for first-time homebuyers ,” said AHCMC Co-Chair Barbara Goldberg Goldman. “Tenants must be able to have the opportunity to purchase their buildings and be successful,” she stated.

Conference moderators and speakers will be experts and specialists in land use, zoning, affordable housing development, planning policies, and tenant purchase of properties.
